Scope
Daily Work Trace is a Microsoft Edge extension that stores the ChatGPT conversations shown on screen inside the browser so users can review their daily work record and export it to a local file.
This policy applies to everyone who installs Daily Work Trace through Microsoft Edge Add-ons. The extension handles conversation data in the same way regardless of how its store listing is distributed.
Information Accessed and Stored
On https://chatgpt.com/*, the extension accesses the following information displayed on screen:
- The text of user messages and ChatGPT responses
- Conversation titles, URLs, and conversation identifiers
- Message roles
- Local collection and last-updated times
The extension does not access browser history, content from other websites, account passwords, or payment information.
Purposes of Use
The information is used only to assemble a daily conversation record, prevent duplicate messages, show conversation and message counts, create a text or JSON file requested by the user, and delete records selected by the user.
It is not used for advertising, user tracking, profiling, analytics, or sale.
Storage Location and Retention
Conversation records are stored only in chrome.storage.local within the current Microsoft Edge profile. They are not transmitted to servers operated by the publisher or third parties.
After each successful save, the extension retains only the latest 14 local calendar days and automatically removes older records. Users can delete today's record or all records at any time. Removing the extension causes Edge to remove that extension's local storage.
External Disclosure and Transmission
Daily Work Trace does not sell or share stored conversations with the publisher, advertisers, analytics providers, or any other third party. Its runtime code contains no server address or network-request feature for transmitting conversations.
When a user selects an export command, the browser creates a text or JSON file locally. The user decides how that exported file is stored and used afterward.
Remote Code and Automatic Updates
The extension does not use remote JavaScript or executable code downloaded at runtime. When distributed through Edge Add-ons, updates follow the standard Microsoft Edge Add-ons update process.
User Choices
Users can review today's record in the popup, export it as a text or JSON file, delete today's record, or delete all records. They can also disable or remove the extension from the Edge extensions management page.
Security
Site access is limited to https://chatgpt.com/*, and the manifest declares only the storage permission. The absence of servers and remote code minimizes external transmission paths.
If a device or Edge profile is shared with another person, locally stored data may be exposed. Users should protect their operating-system account and device appropriately.
Changes to This Policy
If the extension's features or data handling change, this document and its effective date will be updated. Any change to data access or external transmission will also be reflected in the Edge Add-ons submission disclosures.
Contact
Privacy questions can be submitted through the picselec website or the publisher contact shown on the Daily Work Trace listing in Microsoft Edge Add-ons.
